Henry VII and Elizabeth of York
Henry VII’s coronation took place in October 1485. He and his wife Elizabeth were the first monarchs to be buried in the Abbey’s Lady Chapel.

Henry V and Catherine de Valois
Henry’s tomb is below his elaborate chantry chapel in Westminster Abbey. His funeral armour and the effigy of his wife, Catherine de Valois, can be seen in the Abbey Galleries.

Stained Glass
Westminster Abbey has very little medieval glass now remaining but there are good examples of glass from the 18th century to the present day.

Elizabeth II
Queen Elizabeth II's coronation was held at Westminster Abbey on 2nd June 1953. Her wedding to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, took place in 1947. Her funeral was held on 19th September 2022.
